Jinggangshan University

The university is located in Ji’an City, Jiangxi Province, the home of China’s revolutionary cradle — Jinggangshan. It was founded in 1958 but suspended in 1963 due to national economic difficulties. Since resuming operations in 1977, it has gone through several phases including the Jinggangshan Branch of Jiangxi Teachers College, Ji’an Teachers College, Jinggangshan Teachers College (with the merger of Ji’an Education Institute in 2000), as well as two independent entities: the Ji’an Branch of Jiangxi Medical College and Jinggangshan Medical College (which shared facilities with Ji’an Health School). In July 2003, with approval from the Ministry of Education, Jinggangshan Teachers College, Jinggangshan Medical College, and Jinggangshan Vocational and Technical College merged to form Jinggangshan College, while preparations began for the establishment of Jinggangshan University. In August 2007, with approval from the Ministry of Education, Jinggangshan College was officially renamed Jinggangshan University.

The university currently has four campuses, covering a total area of 2,553 acres, with over 650,000 square meters of building space. Its teaching and research equipment is valued at more than 240 million yuan, and the library holds a collection of over 1.99 million volumes. It also has one affiliated hospital rated as Grade 3A.
