The Guantian Shixi Lianke Memorial Archway is located in Tianxi Natural Village, Yingcun, Guantian Township. In the late 1920s, the main house was burned down by authorities. The surviving structures include the ruins of the burned main house, a two-story brick-and-wood building constructed before 1949, a modern two-story brick-and-wood building built in 1958, a side wing, and a courtyard formed between the Republican era and modern times, covering a total area of 1,323.25 square meters. The exterior walls of the houses are all made of blue flat bricks and mountain stones, featuring gable walls, with simple internal structures. The former residence includes an exhibition of Zeng Shan’s bedroom and a pictorial display of his revolutionary work. It is classified as a merit archway, facing south and built in a swallow-nest wood structure from the mid-to-early Qing Dynasty. It has double-eaved brackets, with a wooden plaque hanging below inscribed with the raised characters “Ke Di Shi Jia” (Family of Merit through Imperial Examinations). There are eighteen wooden pillars in total—three rows and six columns—dating from the early Qing Dynasty, supporting the entire structure. Six of these wooden pillars are made of cypress, resting on six elaborately carved Qiyang stone bases. This is also a merit archway, facing west and built in the eastward direction during the Ming Dynasty’s Tianshun era. It stands on a bluestone base, supported by two cypress pillars, each braced by two slanted long bluestone slabs. The tops of the pillars hold two square horizontal beams, with cypress plaques in the center featuring Ming-style four-tier bracket sets. The brackets are covered with green tiles. The main inscription on the plaque is the raised regular script characters “Lian Ke” (Joint Success in Examinations), along with an inscription. It is the earliest discovered wooden structure in Ji’an County with a confirmed date.
