Former Residence of Zeng Shan in Jinyuan

The former residence of Zeng Shan in Jinyuan is a cultural relic protection unit of Jiangxi Province.

The former residence of Zeng Shan is located in Jinyuan Natural Village, Jinyuan Village, Yonghe Town.

In the late 1920s, the main house was burned down by the authorities. The existing structures include the site of the burned main house, a two-story brick-and-wood building constructed before 1949, a modern two-story brick-and-wood building built in 1958, a side wing room, and an enclosed courtyard, covering a total area of 1,323.25 square meters. The exterior walls of the houses are all made of blue flat bricks and mountain stones, with gable walls, and the interior structures are simple. The residence includes an exhibition of Zeng Shan’s bedroom and a photo display of his revolutionary work.

Yonghe Town: [Geographical Location] Yonghe Town is located in the central part of Ji’an County, on the western bank of the middle reaches of the Gan River, and the southern bank of the He River. It borders the Gan River to the east, Fenghuang to the south, Dunhou to the west, and faces Ji’zhou District across the river to the north. [Administrative Division and Historical Evolution] During the Tang, Song, Yuan, Ming, and Qing dynasties, it was under the jurisdiction of the Rulin Township (formerly known as Wenba Township) of Luling County, covering the first, second, tenth, eleventh, and twelfth districts.
