Tomb of Liu Chenweng

The Tomb of Liu Chenweng is a cultural relic protection unit of Ji'an County.

The Tomb of Liu Chenweng is located in Dan Yuan Natural Village, Dan Yuan Village, Meitang Township.

The shape of the tomb and the tombstone are well-preserved, and the site is covered with lush vegetation. Liu Chenweng (1232–1297) was the 24th-generation descendant of Xiao Guan. He passed the imperial examination in the Renxu year (1262) during the Jiading era of the Southern Song Dynasty and served as an official in the Historical Archives Office. After the fall of the Song Dynasty, he declined to serve the new regime and instead taught at a private school and wrote poetry. He is one of China's most renowned patriotic poets in literary history, known for his deeply expressive ci poetry filled with patriotic sentiment, and his collection "Xu Xi Ji" has been preserved.
