Yuxi Pagoda

Yuxi Pagoda is a cultural relic protection unit of Suichuan County.

Yuxi Pagoda is located by the small river beneath Beigang Bridge in Yutian Town. It was built in the Jiayin year of the Ming Jiajing era (1554) by local villagers to suppress a dragon and pray for rain. The pagoda is constructed with flat-laid blue bricks, and the gaps are filled with a mortar mixture of glutinous rice flour and lime. It has seven stories and eight sides, with upturned eaves and corners. Each side features eight alternating windows—some open, some closed—that are symmetrically arranged, with cloud-scroll patterns above the windows. The pagoda stands 24.55 meters tall and has a base diameter of 5 meters. It is a key county-level cultural relic protection unit.
