Wudoujiang Battle Site (including the Panwu Command Post, Guancailing Mountain Area, and Red Army Trenches)

A battle during the Agrarian Revolutionary War where the 4th Army of the Chinese Workers' and Peasants' Revolutionary Army counterattacked the Nationalist forces' "encirclement and suppression" in Wudoujiang, Suichuan County, and Beiling, Yongxin County, Jiangxi Province.

The Wudoujiang Battle refers to the engagement on May 7, 1928, when Zhu De led the headquarters and the 28th Regiment of the Red Fourth Army to defeat two regiments of Yang Ruxuan’s forces stationed in Jiangxi at Wudoujiang. This battle achieved the first major victory for the Red Fourth Army since its establishment — the Victory at Wudoujiang.

Wudoujiang is an important part of the Jinggangshan Revolutionary Base. Today, well-preserved circular mountain trenches from the Wudoujiang Battle site and some slogans written by Red Army soldiers remain. To commemorate this glorious history, the Jiangxi folk song "Ten Farewells to the Red Army" has spread the name of Wudoujiang across the country.
