The Hanxian Lake Water Conservancy Scenic Area features typical Danxia landform. The reservoir area above the dam is long and narrow, with winding paths leading to serene spots, earning it the reputation of a "Ten-Mile Gallery." The scenic area boasts a high vegetation coverage rate, serving as a natural oxygen bar with a rich diversity of flora and fauna and well-preserved biodiversity. It also has profound cultural heritage, as it is said to be the place where Han Zhongli, one of the Eight Immortals, attained enlightenment. The nearby town of Yunmenling is a historically and culturally renowned town in southern Jiangxi, notable for its distinctive Hakka culture.

Scenic Features

The Hanxian Lake Water Conservancy Scenic Area has been officially approved as the tenth batch of national water conservancy scenic areas. Located in Yunmenling Town in the southern part of Huichang County, at the junction of Fujian, Guangdong, and Jiangxi provinces, the scenic area is built around the Yangziyan Reservoir, which was completed in 1991. With a total storage capacity of 6.75 million cubic meters, the reservoir is a small-scale water conservancy hub that provides comprehensive benefits including flood control, irrigation, power generation, and aquaculture. The Hanxian Lake Water Conservancy Scenic Area features typical Danxia landform, surrounded by mountains and water, with oddly-shaped peaks along the shores, lush green hills, and crystal-clear waters. The scenery is magnificent, characterized by clarity, elegance, serenity, danger, wonder, and charm, making it an ideal destination for "green, ecological, and healthy" tourism.
