Nine-Bend Stream Scenic Area

Covering an area of 5.18 square kilometers, the Nine-Bend Stream Scenic Area is a small river formed by the convergence of hundreds of streams in the Sabah Mountain region. It is the final stretch of water before flowing into the Dongfeng Lake. The stream meanders through winding curves, surrounded by mountains and water, creating several sharp bends. Shallow shoals and deep pools follow one after another. Towering peaks rise on both banks, densely forested, and as you venture further in, the visual space becomes increasingly enclosed, often making it hard to tell the direction of the water flow. Major scenic spots within the area include Twin Peaks like Breasts, Plow Tip Peak, Master’s Chair Flying Spring, Fishing Hook Pool, Iron Plate Rock, Giant Clam Emerging from Water, Immortal Finger Peak, and Divine Crocodile Swimming in the Pool.

1. Twin Peaks like Breasts: Located 8 kilometers from the central area of Fu’aotang. Two tall, standing peaks stand side by side, resembling a young woman’s full breasts, hence the name “Twin Peaks like Breasts.” On rainy days, springs that look like milk gush out from the rocks.

2. Master’s Chair Flying Spring: Located 6 kilometers from the central area of Fu’aotang. This waterfall features three tiers and three drops, resembling a master’s chair, with a drop of over 50 meters. The pool at the base is wide and the water is so clear that the bottom is visible, creating a majestic sight.

3. Fishing Hook Pool: Located 8.5 kilometers from the central area of Fu’aotang. Shaped like a fishing hook, the pool covers an area of about 50 square meters and is about 4 meters deep. It is surrounded by lush green mountains, with reflections sinking into the clear water.

4. Iron Plate Rock: Located 7 kilometers from the central area of Fu’aotang. A massive natural rock barrier stands on the right side of the walking trail, measuring 15–17 meters in height and 56 meters in length. It is an excellent spot for cliff inscriptions. It is also referred to as the “Copper Wall.”

5. Giant Clam Emerging from Water: Located 5 kilometers from the central area of Fu’aotang. Two large rocks stand upright in the riverbed, vividly resembling a giant clam rising from the water.

6. Immortal Finger Peak: Located 5 kilometers from the central area of Fu’aotang. On the mountain across from the left side of the walking trail, five peaks are arranged in a scattered yet orderly fashion, resembling the fingers of an immortal. Hence the name “Immortal Finger Peak.”

7. Divine Crocodile Swimming in the Pool: Located 7.5 kilometers from the central area of Fu’aotang. A rock shaped like a giant crocodile emerges from the water, looking leisurely and content.
