The Dongjiangyuan Ecological Sightseeing Orchard in Anyuan County is situated at the scenic source of the Dongjiang River. It encompasses three townships—Sanshiban Town, Kongtian Town, and Zhengan Township—totaling 226 square kilometers. The area features 321,000 mu of mountainous terrain, with a planned orchard area of 100,000 mu, organized into ten bases: the Xianrenfeng Base in Sanshiban Town (8,500 mu), Tianxindong Base (9,100 mu), Qianjinkeng Base (8,860 mu), and Pinggangnao Base (3,630 mu); the Laohukeng Base (11,350 mu) and Hewu Base (11,600 mu) in Kongtian Town, as well as Kengzishan Base (16,960 mu); and the Shanmaokeng Base (9,680 mu), Jiulongshan Base (12,100 mu), and Huangdong Base (8,330 mu) in Zhengan Township. Currently, the orchard has 33,710 mu of productive orchards, 16,930 mu of young orchards, with 26,530 mu developed in 2002, and plans to develop another 22,800 mu between 2003 and 2005.

The county Party committee and government have focused on developing high-quality pollution-free navel oranges as the main product. With high starting points, high standards, and high requirements, they aim for an integrated development model that is ecological, premium, and sightseeing-oriented. Guided by the principles of “unified planning, contiguous development, household-based management, and integrated pig-biogas-fruit systems,” they have employed methods such as policy incentives, service promotion, cadre leadership, and foreign investment stimulation to advance the construction of the Dongjiangyuan Ecological Sightseeing Orchard at multiple levels and in various forms. To date, 399 kilometers of orchard roads have been opened, 6,160 biogas pits have been built, and 11,000 households have joined the development efforts, including 81 investors from Thailand, Hong Kong, Guangdong, and other regions. The orchard has also planned 60 farmhouse leisure estates and 9 mountain ponds and reservoirs for boating, fishing, and relaxation. By 2008, the entire project is expected to be completed, transforming the area into a lush, fragrant, bountiful, peaceful, and nature-connected ecological sightseeing orchard. Together with the Sanshan National Forest Park, the Hot Spring Resort Park, and the Hakka Cultural Park, it will form a uniquely beautiful and captivating sightseeing zone that leaves visitors enchanted. According to experts, this orchard is currently the largest in China in terms of planned area, highest in construction standards, and broadest in development prospects for an ecological sightseeing orchard centered on high-quality pollution-free navel oranges.

Sanshiban Town: Located at the southeastern edge of the county, Sanshiban Town borders Xunwu County to the east, connects to Kongtian Town to the south, adjoins Zhengan Township to the northwest, and neighbors Fengshan Township to the north. It covers an area of 126 square kilometers. In 1985, it had 9,695 mu of arable land and 498 mu of aquaculture water surface; there were 11 village committees, 88 villager groups, 52 natural villages, 2,192 households, and 12,166 residents (including 6,149 women), of which 49 non-agricultural households accounted for 258 people.
