Xingguo Bingxin Cave

Lingshan Bingxin Cave Scenic Area. Located 10 kilometers from the county town and adjacent to Danxia Lake, Lingshan Mountain stands at an elevation of 461.2 meters. Originally named "Yushan" (Jade Mountain), it was renamed "Lingshan" (Spirit Mountain) due to the presence of a golden Guanyin and a golden incense burner in the mountain rocks, which were believed to be highly responsive to prayers. In ancient times, it was known as the premier scenic wonder of Xingguo. The scenic area boasts unique peaks and rocks such as Bamboo Shoot Peak, Immortal Peach Peak, - Stone, and Mang Hammer Stone; cultural and historical sites including Lion Rock, Reading Rock, Fairy Maiden Pool, Horn Stone Fort, and Monkey Brother Fort; temples and shrines such as Qingjing Temple, Three Officials Hall, Qinguang Temple, Flying Buddha, and Three Imperial Palaces. Bingxin Cave was also the revolutionary site of the "Bingxin Cave Meeting" in April 1928, where the Xingguo District Committee of the CPC conveyed the spirit of the August 7th Meeting. Mang Hammer Stone is the cliff from which martyr Jiang Shanzhong leapt to his death, declaring, “I’d rather die and never betray the cause in the netherworld, and protect the Party for ten thousand years.” The spring shown in the photo (the first image) is truly a remarkable example of yin-yang convergence — the mountain here is not very high, yet the spring flows year-round. There are also vivid representations of the Taiji (Yin-Yang), Four Symbols, and Eight Trigrams. The Horn Stone Fort within the scenic area served as a rear supply base for the Red Army during those years. Reading Rock was where Zhong Shaojing, known as the “Number One Prime Minister of the South during the Tang Dynasty,” secluded himself in the valley to study. The entire scenic area spans ten square li, with every peak featuring rock formations and every rock formation associated with a fort, creating a uniquely picturesque landscape.
