Xingguo Generals' Park

A national patriotic education demonstration base and one of the Top Ten Scenic Spots in Southern Jiangxi. Located at the southern entrance of Xingguo County in Jiangxi Province, at the southern end of General Avenue, it is 2 kilometers from the county center and 80 kilometers from Ganzhou City. It is a red tourism theme park. Xingguo is renowned throughout China as the "County of Generals." During the Agrarian Revolutionary War, with a population of just 230,000, 80,000 people from Xingguo joined the army and participated in the war. These brave sons and daughters of Xingguo, through arduous revolutionary struggles, nurtured many revolutionary leaders. In the early years of liberation alone, 54 were awarded general ranks. The county has the highest number of generals in Jiangxi and the second highest in China. The Generals' Park was completed and opened to the public in 2002.

The Generals' Park consists of the Generals' Square, the Generals' Memorial Hall, the Exhibition Hall of Good Work Style of Cadres in the Soviet Area, large-scale group sculptures, a leisure square, Generals' Lake, and Generals' Island. At the center of Generals' Square stands a massive white marble statue of Chairman Mao Zedong, 6 meters tall. The park is planned along the route of the Long March, featuring statues of Marshal Chen Yi and the 54 founding generals of the People’s Republic from Xingguo, as well as 12 uniquely shaped rocks engraved with the 12-part “Long March Song Suite” composed by General Xiao Hua. The Generals' Memorial Hall covers a construction area of 5,000 square meters, with a roof shaped like the iconic Red Army octagonal cap, and its exhibition halls and entrance designed in the shape of a sickle and axe, highlighting the distinctive character of Xingguo as a Red Army county. The museum uses photographs, artifacts, and text to recount the life stories of the 54 generals from Xingguo who were awarded ranks between 1955 and 1964. The Exhibition Hall of Good Work Style of Cadres in the Soviet Area was approved for construction by the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee and the Publicity Department of the Jiangxi Provincial Party Committee. The hall is divided into six exhibition areas and uses hyper-realistic sculptures and modern display techniques such as sound, light, and electricity. With over 2,000 precious cultural relics, images, physical objects, scenes, and multimedia film integrations, it showcases how the cadres of the Soviet Area maintained close ties with the masses, governed for the people, and created first-class work under harsh wartime conditions. It is also the only exhibition hall in China themed around the good work style of Soviet Area cadres. The large-scale group sculpture features three military flags representing the “Xingguo Model Division of the Chinese Workers’ and Peasants’ Red Army,” the “Xingguo Young Communist International Division of the Chinese Workers’ and Peasants’ Red Army,” and the “Xingguo Central Guard Division of the Chinese Workers’ and Peasants’ Red Army,” surrounded by 79 vividly sculpted figures and stories. The three flags symbolize the fact that Xingguo formed three divisions to join the Red Army during the Second Revolutionary Civil War. The sculpture is 23.179 meters long, symbolizing the 23,179 named martyrs from Xingguo who sacrificed their lives in the revolutionary war; it is 2.3 meters wide and 8.5 meters high, symbolizing that out of Xingguo’s population of 230,000, 85,000 joined the fight during the Second Revolutionary Civil War. Southwest of the Generals' Park are two memorial pavilions dedicated to Marshal Xiao Hua and Marshal Chen Qihan. There are also leisure squares and scenic features such as Generals' Lake and Island.

The Generals' Park is a tourist destination integrating commemoration and education, leisure and entertainment, and sightseeing, and is currently applying for recognition as a National AAAA-level Tourist Attraction.
