Junfu Mountain Forest Park. Located 48 kilometers northwest of the county town, it has an average elevation of 800 meters, with 1,404.6

hectares of forested land and a forest coverage rate of 78%. Major attractions include Fangshi Ridge, Longxia Waterfall, a thousand-year-old ancient fir tree, Shuquan Spring, a stone incense burner from the Tang Dynasty, a plaque inscribed with “Eternal Guardian of Southern China” by Wen Tianxiang, a hero who resisted the Yuan Dynasty, Tongwen, Iron Tiles, Dawu Mountain Temple, and Fugou Ancient Temple, among others. Among these, Fangshi Ridge was where Wen Tianxiang, a national hero of the Southern Song Dynasty, fought against Yuan troops. Originally named “Dawu Ming Mountain,” it was renamed Dawu Mountain after the Ming Dynasty scholar Xie La entered the temple and a gust of wind blew out the candles, leaving the halls pitch black. Located on the southern side of the park, Fugou Mountain is considered the origin of the dragon vein of Xingguo County’s urban area, hence also called Buddha Ancestor Mountain. On clear days, one can see Xingguo County from the mountaintop. According to ancient texts, Qi Juanzi, the Immortal of the North Sea in Taoism, obtained 12 secret volumes from a stone book box on this mountain and thereby ascended to immortality.

Located to the south of the park, Fuguo Mountain is the origin of the dragon vein of Xingguo County and is also known as Fozu Mountain (Buddha Ancestor Mountain). On clear days, the Xingguo County seat can be seen in the distance from the mountaintop. According to ancient texts, Qi Juanzi, the Immortal of the North Sea in Taoism, obtained 12 volumes of secret scriptures from a stone book box on this mountain, after which he ascended to the ranks of the immortals.
