Zhu Hua Pagoda

The Zhu Hua Pagoda is a cultural heritage site protected at the provincial level in Jiangxi Province.

The Zhu Hua Pagoda in Xingguo County was first built in the late Tang Dynasty by Zeng Wenshan, the direct disciple of Yang Yunsong, to safeguard the local feng shui. Its unique circular exterior and square interior structure is the only one of its kind in Jiangxi, which is why it is listed as a provincial-level cultural heritage site. Representative temples include Pu Hui Temple, also established in the Tang Dynasty. A cycad tree in the temple has withstood a thousand years of wind and rain since the temple’s founding. The temple also houses a jade Buddha over one meter tall, carved from a single piece of jade—an extremely rare sight.
