The Sanliao Fengshui Culture Scenic Area is a national AAAA-level tourist attraction.

The Sanliao Fengshui Culture Scenic Area is situated in Meijiao Town, Xingguo County, Jiangxi Province, at the border of Xingguo, Ningdu, and Yudu counties. It lies 64 kilometers from the county town, 150 kilometers from both Ganzhou Huangjin Airport and Jinggangshan Airport, and 67 kilometers from Xingguo Railway Station on the Beijing-Kowloon Railway. The area is conveniently accessible via National Highway 319 and the Quanzhou–Nanning Expressway, with an exit just 13 kilometers away in Xingguo East, ensuring smooth transportation.

Renowned for its unique fengshui culture, Sanliao Village has been honored by the international metaphysics community as the “No. 1 Village of Chinese Fengshui Culture” and the “Birthplace of Chinese Fengshui Culture.” Yang Yunsong (courtesy name Yi, alias Jiupin), the patriarch of fengshui, along with his disciples Zeng Wenchan and Liao Jinjing, retreated to Sanliao to write and teach, establishing the theoretical foundation of Chinese fengshui. From there, the culture spread across the world. The Zeng and Liao families of Sanliao inherited and further developed Yang’s profound techniques. Throughout the dynasties of the Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms, Song, Yuan, Ming, and Qing, numerous renowned fengshui masters emerged—36 of whom were honored as Doctors of the Imperial Astronomical Bureau, appointed directly by the emperor. Their fame reached global acclaim. Iconic structures such as the Ming Tombs, the Forbidden City, the Great Wall, and the Eastern Qing Tombs in the ancient capitals of Nanjing and Beijing were all sited by Sanliao’s fengshui experts. The scenic area preserves a wealth of fengshui works, including Turtle and Snake Meeting, the Zeng Family Sand Arm, Snake-Shaped Ancestral Hall, Tiger-Shaped Tomb, and Seven-Star Pond. It is the best-preserved ancient village with the richest collection of fengshui structures in China, making it a sacred pilgrimage site for fengshui enthusiasts worldwide.

In June 2008, Sanliao Fengshui Culture was officially included in the second batch of Jiangxi Province’s Intangible Cultural Heritage list. The Sanliao Fengshui Culture Scenic Area has earned honors such as “Top 10 Rural Tourism Attractions in Jiangxi 2006,” “National Agricultural Tourism Demonstration Site,” and “Jiangxi Rural Tourism Demonstration Site.” In 2009, Sanliao Village was also designated as a Jiangxi Provincial Historical and Cultural Village.

The Sanliao Fengshui Culture Scenic Area offers comprehensive tourism facilities, including a visitor center that integrates services such as travel consultation, ticketing, guided tours, shopping, dining, and accommodation. It features public toilets built to three-star standards, three parking lots covering a total area of approximately 18,000 square meters, multilingual signage, strategically placed trash bins and rest areas, as well as amenities for special groups such as the disabled, elderly, and children. The area also provides sightseeing battery cart services.

The Sanliao Fengshui Culture Scenic Area places strong emphasis on preserving its historical, cultural, and natural resources. Annual investments in landscape, ecological, cultural relic, and ancient architecture conservation exceed 1.5 million RMB. The area has also established the “Sanliao Fengshui Culture Scenic Area Landscape Protection System” and the “Sanliao Fengshui Culture Scenic Area Ecological Protection System.” The air quality meets Grade II standards of the Ambient Air Quality Standard (GB3095-1996), surface water quality complies with Class II standards of the Surface Water Environmental Quality Standard (GB3838-2002), and noise levels adhere to Class I standards of the Environmental Noise Quality Standard (GB3096-2008).

The Sanliao Fengshui Culture Scenic Area offers both a standardized tour route and customized options based on visitor preferences, all available at the visitor center.

Meijiao Town: Located in the eastern part of Xingguo County, Meijiao Town borders Ningdu to the east, Zhangmu and Yudu County to the south, and Gulonggang Town to the northwest. The town government is stationed in Meijiao Market, with postal code 342432, 64 kilometers from the county seat. It administers seven villages: Meijiao, Zha’nao, Sanliao, Dianshan, Shuinan, Huangling, and Huangsha, comprising 86 villager groups.
