Former Site of the Central Mint in Dongcun

The former site of the Central Mint is located at Donglong An, near Dongcun Market in Dongcun Township, Xingguo County.

From the summer of 1930 to December 1931, the Central Mint was stationed here. Initially, it was the Mint of the Jiangxi Provincial Soviet Government, headed by Director Xie Liren. In October 1930, after the Red Army captured Ji'an City, a large amount of silver material was seized and transported to Donglong An under the charge of Huang Jiahuang from Donggu Bank, commissioned by Provincial Chairman Zeng Shan.

After the establishment of the Provisional Central Government of the Chinese Soviet Republic, the Mint of the Jiangxi Provincial Soviet Government was renamed the Central Mint, producing thousands of silver dollar imitations per day. The Central Government dispatched Mao Zemin to take over, and the mint was relocated to Yangxi Village in Ruijin County.

The site faces south and is built with brick and wood, featuring a gable-and-hip roof. It consists of the Mahavira Hall, Skanda Hall, and living quarters, with the Mahavira Hall serving as the workshop of the mint.
