Former Site of the Red Army General Hospital Headquarters

The former site of the Red Army General Hospital Headquarters is a cultural relic protection unit of Jiangxi Province.

The former site of the Central Red Army General Hospital is located at the Li Clan Ancestral Hall in Chaling Village, Dinglong Township, Xingguo County, Jiangxi Province.

In June 1932, the school returned to Yudu and resumed teaching. In August of the same year, with the approval of Zhu De, Chairman of the Central Revolutionary Military Commission, the school relocated to Chaling Village in Xingguo County, where the Red Army General Hospital was based, and continued its educational activities.

From 1931 to 1934, during its stay in Chaling, the Army Medical School enrolled three classes with a total of over 580 students. Each class underwent about one year of training before graduates were assigned to serve in Red Army units and local hospitals, becoming the first group of military doctors trained by our army. In April 1934, the Chinese Workers' and Peasants' Red Army Medical School moved to Ruijin.

The original building covers an area of 420 square meters, faces south, and features a brick-and-wood structure with a flush-gable roof covered by board tiles. The ancestral hall is divided into upper and lower halls, with a courtyard between them, and utilizes a post-and-lintel beam frame. It was designated as a county-level cultural relic protection unit in February 1999.
