The Former Site of the CPC Gannan Provincial Committee is a cultural tourism attraction and a classic red tourism destination.

Gannan Province was established in July 1934 to meet the strategic needs of the main forces of the Red Army preparing for a breakout and strategic relocation. Initially, it governed four counties—Yudu, Dengxian, Ganxian, and Yangyin—as well as two remote guerrilla zones, Xinkang and Nanxiong, and later added Xunwu, Anyuan, Huichang, Yuxian County, and Xinglong and Xuan County. In August, the Gannan Provincial Committee was stationed here, with Zhong Xunren serving as the provincial party secretary (later succeeded by Ruan Xiaoxian), Luo Mengwen as head of the Organization Department, Pan Hannian as head of the Propaganda Department (later succeeded by Yang Shangkui), Zhang Jinyu as head of the White Area Work Department, and Liu Lianzi as head of the Women’s Department. The Gannan Provincial Committee also published its official publication, the "Provincial Committee Bulletin," on an irregular basis. Yudu became the assembly point for the Central Red Army’s Long March and successfully carried out its strategic breakout, largely due to the extensive work done by the Gannan Provincial Committee and the Provincial Soviet in mobilizing the masses, organizing grain supplies, and expanding the Red Army.

From its establishment until March 1935, when it implemented a dispersed breakout and continued guerrilla warfare in Xinfeng, Gannan Province lasted nine months. Its main leaders were successively martyred, leading to the natural dissolution of the province. The site is a brick-and-wood structure with a flush gable roof, facing south and covering an area 9.9 meters wide and 25.4 meters deep, with a total floor space of 251 square meters.

In July 1934, when the Gannan Provincial Committee of the CPC was established, its headquarters were located here. The committee included an Organization Department, a Propaganda Department, a White Area Work Department, and a Women’s Department. Zhong Xunren served as the provincial party secretary, Luo Mengwen as head of the Organization Department, Pan Hannian as head of the Propaganda Department (later —), Zhang Jinyu as head of the White Area Work Department, and Liu Lianzi as head of the Women’s Department. The Gannan Provincial Committee also published its official publication, the "Gannan Provincial Committee Newsletter," on an irregular basis.

After its establishment, the Gannan Provincial Committee actively responded to the call of the Central Committee, issuing a series of orders and circulars in a timely manner. It led and mobilized the masses across the province to carry out extensive guerrilla warfare, actively supported the operations of the Red Army, and rapidly expanded the Red Army. When the Central Red Army assembled in Yudu, the Gannan Provincial Committee, in accordance with the central deployment, systematically and organizedly requisitioned a large number of laborers to assist the Red Army in transporting supplies and equipment, and carried out large-scale grain and fund raising efforts.

To support and cover the safe assembly of the Central Red Army in Yudu and its strategic breakout westward, on October 15, the Gannan Provincial Committee held a conference of cadres at the county, district, and provincial levels in Xiejia Ancestral Hall in the county seat. The meeting studied and arranged relevant work to provide manpower and material support for the Red Army’s strategic relocation. At the same time, it extensively organized guerrilla teams to carry out guerrilla warfare, striking and pinning down enemy forces.

From its establishment in July 1934 to its dispersed breakout in March 1935, the Gannan Provincial Committee lasted only nine months. However, its leadership in the heroic struggle of the people of southern Jiangxi will be forever recorded in the annals of the revolution.
