Yudu Ziyang Taoist Temple

Ziyang Taoist Temple was originally located outside the eastern gate of Yudu County. It was first built during the Sui Dynasty under the name Qinghua Taoist Temple, and was renamed Ziyang Taoist Temple in the Tang Dynasty. The eminent Taoist master Zhao Yuanyang of the Ming Dynasty once practiced Taoism here. Liu Yuanran, the founding patriarch of the Longmen Sect, was a disciple of Zhao Yuanyang and also resided at Ziyang Temple to cultivate Taoism. The temple was destroyed during the Cultural Revolution, and its original site was later occupied by residential buildings.

In November 2006, it was relocated and rebuilt elsewhere through the dedication and fundraising efforts of Lin Luomiao, the Taoist abbess of Zhengyi Tian Shi Dao. The new site is located in the northeastern suburbs of Yudu County. In 2010, it was officially approved as a place of religious activity by the Ethnic and Religious Affairs Bureau of Ganzhou City, Jiangxi Province. The temple now enshrines the Jade Emperor of the Golden Heaven, the Queen Mother of the West, and Xianying Gong Lai Gong, among others.
