The First Long March Crossing is a classic red tourism attraction.

Yudu was one of the starting points of the Long March. The Yudu River (also known as the Gong River) was the first major river that the Red Army had to cross during the Long March. At the time, there were no bridges over the river, so the people of Yudu built pontoon bridges and operated ferries. From the evening of October 16 to October 19, 1934, a total of 87,000 people crossed the Yudu River and embarked on the Long March, opening a new chapter in the nation’s history.

Today, the monument inscribed with “The First Crossing of the Central Red Army during the Long March” standing tall in the crossing square still evokes the awe-inspiring scene of those historic days.
