Music Square is part of Bailuzhou Park. During the day, you can only watch the pigeons, but the musical fountain show is at night—arriving around 6 PM gives you a good spot. At the center of the square stands the Goddess of the Egret sculpture, which is 13.6 meters tall and a iconic symbol of Xiamen. In front of the statue, there are friendly pigeons that interact closely with visitors, creating a warm and natural atmosphere.

As the name suggests, Music Square is a leisure plaza with music as its theme. It not only features pavilions with distinctive Minnan characteristics but also boasts majestic sculptures engraved with illustrated and informative introductions to various musical instruments, offering visitors an artistic experience. Around the square, waves crash against the boardwalk, allowing guests to enjoy the sea breeze and unwind.

Music Square combines artistry, commemoration, and educational elements. Ancient gongche notation, unique Nanyin instruments, and melodious tunes... The culturally rich Nanyin music of southern Fujian is presented via a bridge structure, located in one corner of the square. Large sculptures are grand and imposing, while smaller pieces are vividly realistic. The illustrated, informative introductions to musical instruments provide artistic inspiration, contributing to the square’s vibrant musical ambiance. It is said that the main design elements of Music Square include the square plaque, the story of the original wooden boat and large oar, the ocean of music, stone carvings introducing the life stories of famous musicians from Xiamen, a decorative wall themed on the ancient Chinese five tones, a sunken plaza fountain, the blue coastline, scattered musical notes, and a mirror-like pool—integrating human culture and regional features to blend music, musicians, and Xiamen’s local musical atmosphere.
