Hibiscus Tunnel is one of the main attractions of Xiamen University. It can be described as China's most artistic tunnel, featuring the country’s longest graffiti-covered tunnel. These beautiful murals have been painted stroke by stroke by students of Xiamen University. It attracts countless art-loving youths and tourists for sightseeing. The Hibiscus Tunnel of Xiamen University is located within the university campus. The tunnel starts from the Hibiscus Garden Student Canteen in the western part of the Xiamen University campus, runs through Lion Mountain, and ends at the entrance of the Xiamen University student apartments to the east. The tunnel is really long—it takes at least 20 minutes to walk from one end to the other. The university students have used the walls on both sides as canvases, creating many interesting graffiti artworks. They are colorful, diverse in style, filled with the students’ wild imaginations, and also include many heartwarming and touching pieces. These works have transformed an ordinary stone tunnel into what is now the most artistic tunnel. Visitors to Xiamen University may want to check it out—it’s quite an amusing experience.
