Xiamen University's Lotus Lake

The most well-known "Lotus Lake" of Xiamen University is located in the center of the campus and serves as the crowning touch of the entire campus layout.

· Li Guangqian, son-in-law of Tan Kah Kee, hailed from Lotus Township in Nan'an. He made significant contributions to the construction of Xiamen University, hence many campus buildings have been named with "Lotus."

· Lotus Lake features beautiful scenery and is home to black swans. It was also a filming location for Meteor Shower and is the most iconic spot to visit at Xiamen University.

Located in front of the Tan Kah Kee Building Complex, Lotus Lake covers an area of 130,000 square meters and is one of the best romantic spots for Xiamen University students. The traditional Chinese architectural style of Xiamen University, paired with the shimmering waters of Lotus Lake and shaded by century-old willow trees, creates a uniquely charming atmosphere. The lake is also home to black swans, and various plants and flowers are planted along its shores, offering picturesque views.
