Top A’zi Cat Street

Top A’zi is a popular area for students to shop, featuring many small shops and street food. It’s located at the intersection of Nanhua Road and Siming South Road. The street is not very wide or large, with cobblestone paths, quaint little stores, and quite a few foreign visitors, giving it a slight Hong Kong-Macao vibe.

Cat Street is near the West Village of Xiamen University, home to the only cat museum on both sides of the Taiwan Strait.

The street isn’t wide—it’s actually a fairly steep uphill road—and cat-themed decorations are everywhere, making it perfect for photos.

Most of the shops here are cat-themed, offering a variety of fun cat-related merchandise.

The Cat Museum is home to over ten cats of various breeds. Their sleepy eyes and soft ears make it hard not to reach for your camera.

Tips

Photography is allowed in the Cat Museum, but flash is not permitted.

The overall style of Cat Street is fresh and lively. It’s recommended to wear brightly colored, casual clothing. However, since the general color scheme of the street is blue, it’s best to avoid wearing blue.

Ticket Information:

No ticket is required to enter the Cat Museum, but entry to the glass room where the cats live requires a ticket—10 RMB for half an hour, with only 30 tickets available per day.
