Xiamen Bridge

Xiamen Bridge is China's first highway bridge spanning the strait. It consists of the main bridge, the Jimei Interchange, the Gaoqi Approach Road, and an automated management system. Construction began on October 1, 1987, and trial opening to traffic took place in May 1991. Jiang Zemin, General Secretary of the CPC Central Committee and President of the People's Republic of China, personally inscribed the name "Xiamen Bridge"…
