Wuyuan Bridge (Zhongzhaiwan Bridge)

Wuyuan Bridge (Zhongzhaiwan Bridge) is located at the mouth of an inland lake formed by land reclamation in the northeastern part of Xiamen Island, connecting the Wutong development area and Dunshang development area of the Huandao Road project. The bridge has a total length of 810 meters, with the main bridge being 34.9 meters wide and the approach bridges 32 meters wide. The main bridge is a steel-structured half-through basket-handle arch bridge, with a main span of 208 meters and two side spans of 58 meters each; the approach bridges at both ends consist of six 40-meter prestressed continuous box girders each. The main design feature of Wuyuan Bay Bridge is its three-span steel-box arch half-through basket-handle form, which also serves as a highlight of the Wuyuan Bay development. The Huandao Lili Avenue Grand Bridge over Wuyuan Bay is a key project affecting the progress of Huandao Lili Avenue. Running north from Zhongzhai to south Huangcuo, Huandao Lili Avenue is a major north-south thoroughfare on Xiamen Island. Together with two other bridges, it will complete the road network of Wuyuan Bay and boost the economic vitality of the area. With seawater introduced, Wuyuan Bridge and its four “sisters” will create a new Xiamen scenic view known as “Five Bridges Mirroring the Moon.”
