Shell Fantasy World is located at the entrance of Gusheng Cave, surrounded by beautiful scenery. The attraction houses a collection of over 6,800 types of shells from countries such as the United States, Australia, and Southeast Asia. It is the first theme park in China dedicated to shells. Inside the cave, multimedia, sound, light, and electrical effects are combined to create a blend of reality and fantasy.

The Shell Museum is situated on Gulangyu Island within Shell Fantasy World. With a collection of over 6,800 types of shells, it focuses on representative species such as the Martin’s spindle shell, the king’s miter, the golden star cowrie, and the cognac whelk. Visitors can gain an in-depth understanding of the basic morphology, typical features, and classification of shells. The museum also showcases fascinating anecdotes about shell collections from enthusiasts around the world. Some of the more precious items are reserved exclusively for annual academic exchanges on shells.

Shell Fantasy World was innovatively transformed from the former Hero Mountain Air-raid Shelter, now named Guling Cave. It has been meticulously developed into a multimedia-themed adventure park. Follow the explorer Mr. Morgan in search of the mysterious shell spirits. As the faint, ethereal shadows of shells appear, the daily lives of fishermen in their oyster shell houses unfold with sunrise and sunset routines. The enchanting “Waves of Gulangyu” draw us into the Shell Theater, led by the shell spirits. Amidst interplaying lights and shadows, a mysterious force takes us into an ancient submarine hut, descending to the deepest parts of the ocean. Here, a graceful mermaid reveals the path ahead. After a dazzling display of lights, the Gate of Time opens, transporting us through a swirling vortex into the ancient ocean, brimming with history and culture. A kaleidoscope of underwater shells then comes to life. This legendary and thrilling journey gives Shell Fantasy World its unique appeal, making it an iconic attraction on Gulangyu Island.
