Dagangzi Bathing Beach

Dagangzi Bathing Beach is situated on the southern side of Gulangyu Island and is considered the most picturesque seaside bathing area on the island. To its north is Sunlight Rock, to the west is Drumming Cave, and to the east is Shuzhuang Garden. Thanks to these three scenic spots nearby, the beach draws a lot of tourists. The sand here is extremely soft and pleasant to walk on. The waters off this beach are very expansive, making it the only beach on Gulangyu where you can gaze at an endless sea horizon. It’s also a great spot to watch the sunrise. The best time varies by season, generally between 5:00 AM and 6:30 AM. For the best panoramic view of Dagangzi, head to the top of Sunlight Rock—the island’s top attraction. From there, you can see the hiking path up to the summit of Sunlight Rock, which is often crowded with people. So, when climbing Sunlight Rock, be sure to stay safe.
