The Xiamen Youth Astronomy Science and Technology Museum serves as a science education base.

The Xiamen Youth Astronomy and Meteorology Museum was established on March 23, 2004. It is located within the municipal meteorological bureau on Fox Tail Mountain in Dongdu, atop the over 130-meter-high Fox Tail Mountain Forest Park, in the south and middle auxiliary buildings next to the "Sea Pearl" meteorological radar tower.

The Xiamen Youth Astronomy and Meteorology Museum consists of two parts: the exhibition hall and the meteorology exhibition hall, with a total floor area of over 2,000 square meters. The astronomy exhibition hall is located on the first and second floors of the south auxiliary building, while the meteorology exhibition hall is situated on the first and second floors of the middle auxiliary building. The astronomy and meteorology exhibition halls introduce a wealth of ancient and modern astronomical and meteorological knowledge from China and abroad using modern science and technology. They feature numerous educational and entertaining activities suitable for young people, including a large number of display panels, models, as well as computer inquiry, demonstration, and gaming systems. Major exhibits in the astronomy exhibition hall include a levitating globe,

a three-star instrument, a moon phase instrument, a cosmic scale, a solar room, a space photography platform, a demonstrable sundial, an astronomy fun laboratory, ancient astronomical instruments, a demonstration model of Su Song's escapement wheel, telescope observation, and stereoscopic images. Some exhibits are also equipped with self-guided audio commentary.
