Xiamen Seawall Memorial Park

Xiamen Seawall Memorial Park is located at the junction of the Gaoji Seawall and Binhai Road, situated between the Xiamen Bridge and the Gaoji Seawall, covering a total area of approximately 12,200 square meters. The stone wall in the park square inscribed with “Xiamen Seawall Memorial Park” is built from 1,953 old seawall slab stones. Six layers and 17 vertical rows of foundation stones are stacked to create a scenic wall, which is 22.12 meters long in total. This symbolizes the start date of the construction of the Xiamen Seawall Bridge on June 17, 1953. The park consists of multiple parts including a central square, a large thematic relief sculpture, the Seawall Construction Memorial Hall, a stone stele displaying seawall engineering data, and a stone stele commemorating the victims of the seawall construction.
