The Li Qingquan Villa

The Li Qingquan Villa is located on Qishan Road, Gulangyu Island. Built in 1926, the building sits against the hillside and faces the sea, offering views of most of the Xiamen-Gulangyu Strait. It is one of the best-preserved historic residences on Gulangyu, still inhabited by descendants of the Li family. The layout remains largely intact, allowing visitors to catch a glimpse of life as it was in those days. This three-story villa, which combines Chinese and Western styles, features majestic Roman-style columns at the front that lend it a solemn and stately appearance. The courtyard is paved with multicolored granite pebbles forming charming pathways, giving the whole property an elegant and refined charm. The garden is planted with rare tropical pines and various flowers and plants, centered around a European-style fountain. Rockeries and pavilions add a touch of natural warmth to the residence.
