Dadaiji Bathing Beach

Dadaiji Bathing Beach is located next to Haoyue Garden on Gulangyu Island. Following the Dadaiji sign along Guanhai Road and descending the steps, you’ll find a stretch of clean sandy beach and a bay of grayish-green seawater. To the left, the lush woods of Haoyue Garden stand out, while the high-rises of Xiamen and Zhongzhaiwan Bridge are just across the water, almost within reach. To the right is the lifelike Lion Rock, surrounded by some clean scattered rocks—truly the legendary “most beautiful seaside bathing beach.” Thanks to the many trees, there are plenty of shady spots on the beach after 1 p.m., making it one of the best beaches for summer swimming.
