It is located at Huxi Rock in Xiamen. Carved in the third year of the Tianqi era of the Ming Dynasty (1623), the stone stands 1.3 meters tall and 0.6 meters wide. The vertical regular script is arranged in four lines, comprising a total of 21 characters, each measuring 17 cm in height and 13 cm in width. The inscription reads: “On the twentieth day of the eleventh month in the year of Guihai during the Tianqi era, Zhu Yifeng of Guangling arrived to lead troops against the foreigners.” In November of the third year of the Tianqi era (1623), Dutch colonists once again invaded areas around Xiamen such as Zengcuo’an and Gulangyu. The local military and civilians fought back fiercely and annihilated the invading enemies. Zhu Yifeng, the participating censor of Funing Circuit, had this stone carved to commemorate the event. It serves as a valuable historical record for the study of Ming Dynasty coastal defense and anti-invasion struggles. In 1985, it was designated as part of the second batch of provincial-level cultural relic protection units by the People’s Government of Fujian Province.
