Aotou "Stone Lion Alley"

Aotou "Stone Lion Alley" is located at No. 10–45, Houpu Ding, Aotou Natural Village, Aotou Community, Xindian Town — that is, behind the "Su Family Ancestral Hall" by the seaside in Aotou. It was first built in the late Ming and early Qing dynasties. The alley runs from east to west, with residential houses belonging to villagers of Houpu Ding on both the northern and southern sides. Most of the residences face this alley. This straight alley is about 500 meters long and 2.3 to 4 meters wide, covering an area of 1,800 square meters. On the southern side of the alley stand two stone lions. One is 0.83 meters tall, with a girth of 1.11 meters and weighs about 400 jin (approximately 200 kg); the other is 1.17 meters tall, with a girth of 1.63 meters and weighs about 1,500 jin (approximately 750 kg). On the outer wall to the west of the right-hand side of the zelkova tree at the front of an old house opposite the stone lions, there is an inscribed stone tablet measuring 0.42 meters in length and 0.28 meters in width, engraved with the characters “来龙进宝” (meaning “Prosperity Enters with the Dragon”). Hence, this alley is called "Stone Lion Alley."

Aotou Community: Aotou Village Committee: Located in the southern part of the town. It administers two natural villages: Aotou and Shangsu. There are 5 villager groups, 251 households, and 967 residents. In the Qing Dynasty, it belonged to Aotou Bao of Xiangfeng Li. In 1943, it came under Aotou Bao of Zhennan Township. In 1950, it was part of Aotou Township in the Fifth District. In 1955, it belonged to Hongzhong District. In 1959, it was under Aotou Brigade of Xindian Commune. In 1984, it was renamed Aotou Village Committee, under Xindian Township. In 1987, it came under Xindian Town.

Aotou: Located 7.7 kilometers south of the former town government seat. It is situated where the bay curves and ships can dock, hence the name Aotou. In the Qing Dynasty, there were references to "Aotou Xu" and "Aotou..." Aotou Community detailed information ++
