The Site of the August 23rd Artillery Battle in Dadeng is situated at the southeastern tip of Dadeng Island in Dadeng Subdistrict, specifically on the southern side of the former "Heroic Three Islands" Battlefield Sightseeing Park, inscribed by the former Vice Chairman of the Central Military Commission and Minister of National Defense. The entrance was originally the air compressor room of the Voice of the Strait Broadcasting Station, built from reinforced concrete. The two gates weigh 2.4 tons each, the walls are 1.2 meters thick, the roof slab is 1.6 meters thick, the ceiling height is 6.6 meters, the compressor room is 19 meters long and 15 meters wide, covering a floor area of 285 square meters, and has a bulletproof rating for 30-ton impacts.

From the southeast corner of the air compressor room, a 210-meter-long battlefield tunnel extends, constructed from granite slabs. It is 1.8 meters high, 1.2 meters wide, and about 2 meters above ground level, with a floor area of 252 square meters. Inside the tunnel, an oil lamp is hung every 4 meters on the walls, and a drainage channel 0.12 meters wide and 0.1 meters high is built along the right side of the floor. At the tunnel exit stands a room that once housed military broadcast loudspeakers, measuring 5.1 meters long, 3 meters wide, and 2.6 meters high, with 1.2-meter-thick walls and 1.9-meter-thick panels, covering a floor area of 15.3 square meters. The total floor area from the compressor room to the speaker room is 552.3 square meters. The largest loudspeaker has a diameter of 2.86 meters, is 4.47 meters long, and weighs 1,588 kilograms, making it the "largest in the world." It operates on the principle of acoustic mimicry, using compressed air as the power source and voice signals to control high-pressure airflow, generating and transmitting speech and music sound waves. It has a maximum sound power of 20,000 acoustic watts and an effective sound transmission distance of 12 kilometers.

This historical site faces Kinmen across the water, making it the only multifunctional educational base and tourist destination in China that directly overlooks Kinmen. It centers on the theme of national reunification, incorporates sightseeing, and integrates patriotic education, national defense knowledge, military science popularization, and leisure entertainment.
