Ruins of Jingshibian

The ruins of Jingshibian is a cultural tourism attraction.

The ruins of Jingshibian are located in the northeastern part of Qili Natural Village, Guilin Village, Xinxu Town, about 80 meters southwest of the under-construction "Dajue Chan Temple" on the western foothills of "Chumiyan." It is the site of a Song Dynasty temple. The surface is covered with a lychee orchard. When villagers dug two tree pits measuring 1.5 meters long, 1.2 meters wide, and 0.8 meters deep, they discovered underground bricks, floor tiles, and remnants of wall foundations. There are four layers of wall foundations, with ripple-patterned bricks topped by decorative tiles measuring 0.38 meters per side and 0.045 meters thick. The decorative tiles feature a double-phoenix motif arranged in a circular composition, with bat patterns in each of the four corners. A stone column base with a diameter of 0.4 meters was also found.

According to research, the original name of the temple site was "Donggong" (Tang Palace), but it was later renamed "Jingshibian" after scholars took up residence in seclusion there. The temple enshrined the red-faced Qing Shui Ancestor (Qingshui Zuoshi). Former villagers once discovered a camphorwood statue of Qing Shui Zuoshi during farming, unfortunately destroyed during the Cultural Revolution. Legend has it that Jingshibian originally housed 99 monks, all of whom were martial monks belonging to the Southern Shaolin lineage.

Guilin Village: The Guilin administrative village comprises six natural villages—Guilin, Caopugong, Qianbian, Yuanya, Houliao, and Qili—with 12 villager groups, covering a total land area of 7,283 mu, and a population of 874 households and 2,764 people. In 2008, the total economic income was 2,689 yuan, with a per capita income of 6,100 yuan. The economy is primarily based on crop farming.
