Xiamen Jimei Middle School was founded on October 18, 1918, by the patriotic overseas Chinese leader Mr. Tan Kah Kee. With a long history and remarkable achievements, it has educated students from all over the world and enjoys a prestigious reputation both at home and abroad, earning the title of “China’s Renowned School.” It is among the first batch of key high schools in Fujian Province, a provincially designated first-class school, a provincial-level civilized unit, an advanced institution in quality education, a provincial moral education base, and a provincial advanced school in campus safety.

Jimei Middle School is one of the first batch of key high schools in Fujian Province and a provincially designated first-class school. Xiamen Jimei Middle School in Fujian Province was founded by Mr. Tan Kah Kee in 1918.

The architectural style of Jimei Middle School is known as “Tan Kah Kee-style,” a unique design pioneered by the late Mr. Tan Kah Kee. Locals often refer to it as “wearing a suit and a straw hat,” referring to its distinctive blend of Chinese and Western elements. The Nanxun Building is located within Jimei Middle School, along with the Lǐ Lín Garden. In front of Lǐ Lín Garden stands an enormous tree, which is likely considered a cultural relic.
