The Jiguang Bronze Pillar Archway is a cultural relic protection unit of Fujian Province.

The Jiguang Bronze Pillar Archway

Year: Qing Dynasty

Location: Dianxitou Village, Tong’an District, Xiamen City

Introduction: In the 56th year of the Kangxi reign of the Qing Dynasty (1717), Shi Shipiao, Admiral of the Fujian Navy, and others erected this archway to commemorate the achievements of Shi Lang. Facing south, it is a stone-constructed, memorial archway-style structure with four pillars, three bays, and three stories. It spans 7.86 meters in width and stands 8.08 meters tall. The central bay features inscriptions on both the front and back of the archway’s horizontal tablets, which are inscribed in regular script: “Jiguang Bronze Pillar” on the front and “Siyong Xian Stele” on the back. Below the tablets, the inscribed plaque reads: “Bestowed with imperial robes by decree, honored with poetic praise, Grand Guardian of the Heir Apparent, Inner Minister, General Pacifying the Sea, Marquis Pacifying the Sea, hereditary title without cessation, concurrently overseeing the affairs of the Fujian Navy, commanding land and naval forces of Penghu and Taiwan, ranked Third Class, former Commander-in-Chief of Tong’an, posthumously awarded the title of Minor Tutor to the Heir Apparent, conferred the posthumous name Xiangzhuang—Shi Lang.”

Protective boundary: Extending 30 meters outward from all sides of the archway.

In 2009, the Jiguang Bronze Pillar Archway was designated as part of the seventh batch of provincial-level cultural relic protection units by the People’s Government of Fujian Province.
