The former site of Yinghua Academy on Gulangyu Island is a cultural heritage site protected at the provincial level in Fujian Province.

The former site of Yinghua Academy on Gulangyu Island is located on Gulangyu Island in Siming District, Xiamen City, dating back to the Qing Dynasty.

Description: Also known as Wu Tianting Pavilion, it was built in the late 19th century and is a two-story colonial veranda-style building in the Renaissance style. It faces southeast and is situated northwest, measuring 22.7 meters in width and 16.2 meters in depth. The building’s floor plan consists of a front courtyard, central hall, and side rooms. The front façade features horizontal arched corridors on both the first and second floors, supported by square columns; the exterior wall of the first-floor corridor bears a stucco inscription reading “Wu Tianting Pavilion.” The building has red brick walls, white plaster finishes, a double-sloped roof, and decorations that are simple, elegant, and distinctive.

Protected area: 10 meters beyond the surrounding walls to the east, west, and north, and extending to Anhai Road to the south.

In 2018, the former site of Yinghua Academy on Gulangyu Island was designated as part of the ninth batch of provincial-level cultural heritage sites by the People's Government of Fujian Province.
