The former site of the staff apartments of The Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation on Gulangyu is a cultural heritage site protected at the provincial level in Fujian Province.

The former site of the staff apartments of The Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation on Gulangyu is located on Gulangyu Island, Siming District, Xiamen City, dating back to the Republican era.

Description: Constructed in 1920 as staff housing for The Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation, the complex comprises a main building on the east side and an attached building connected to its west side, covering a total area of 533 square meters. The main building faces southwest and is situated to the northeast, measuring 17 meters in width and 23 meters in depth. It is a two-story Western-style structure made of red brick, characterized by its tall and imposing form. The attached building, which is connected to the northwest side of the main building, is a shorter two-story red brick structure, oriented southeast to northwest, with a width of 17 meters and a depth of 8 meters. This building features a simple design and exemplifies early modern architectural style.

Protected Area: To the east up to the wall of the Fourth Fire Brigade Detachment, to the south and west up to the wall of Xiamen No. 2 Middle School, and to the north up to Gulinxin Road.

In 2018, the former site of the staff apartments of The Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation on Gulangyu was designated as part of the ninth batch of provincial-level cultural heritage sites by the People's Government of Fujian Province.
