The former site of the Gulangyu Waterworks is a cultural heritage site protected at the provincial level in Fujian Province.

The former site of the Gulangyu Waterworks is located on Zhangzhou Road, Gulangyu Subdistrict, Siming District, Xiamen City, dating back to 1930–1932.

Description: Constructed by the overseas Chinese magnate Huang Yizhu between 1930 and 1932, the site currently includes a water storage tank on Chicken Comb Hill, a pump house and management building, and an experts' residence. The semi-underground water storage tank features a granite foundation, with the main structure made of concrete (cement), measuring 28 meters in length, 15 meters in width, and 5.2 meters in height. To the northeast of the tank is the pump house and management building—a single-unit, four-and-a-half-story small building, 7.5 meters wide and 6 meters deep. The basement houses densely arranged water inlet and outlet pipes, the first floor contains water gate turntables, wheels, motors, and other pumping facilities, while the second and third floors serve as staff quarters.

In 2013, the former site of the Gulangyu Waterworks was designated as part of the eighth batch of provincial-level cultural heritage protection units by the People's Government of Fujian Province.

Protected area: An additional 10-meter buffer zone around the site.
