The Site of the Noonday Gun at Weiyi Mountain is a cultural relic protection unit of Fujian Province.

The Site of the Noonday Gun at Weiyi Mountain is located atop Weiyi Mountain in Gulangyu, Siming District, Xiamen City, dating back to 1897.

Description: Around 1897, the Xiamen Customs installed a cannon on the peak of Weiyi Mountain, which was fired at noon every Saturday to mark the time—commonly known as the “Noonday Gun.” In the 1950s, the military placed anti-aircraft guns on the mountaintop. Currently, there are four anti-aircraft gun emplacements remaining: east, west, south, and north, spaced approximately 20–30 meters apart, covering an area of over 400 square meters in total. The site of the Noonday Gun is located in the center of the mountaintop platform.

In 2013, the Site of the Noonday Gun at Weiyi Mountain was designated as part of the eighth batch of provincial-level cultural relic protection units by the People’s Government of Fujian Province.

Protected area: extends to the coastline to the east and north, to Huandao Road to the west, and to the boundary wall of the Salvation Hospital to the southeast.
