Maxiang Yuanwei Temple is a cultural relic protection unit of Fujian Province.

Maxiang Yuanwei Temple is located on Maxiang Street, Maxiang Town, Xiang'an District, Xiamen City, and dates back to the Qing Dynasty.

Description: Facing east and situated to the west, it consists of a front hall, a rear hall, a square pavilion, and other structures, enshrining deities such as the King of the Pool, Chi Ran. The front hall is three bays wide and two bays deep, with a post-and-lintel timber frame and a flush gable roof; a rolled shed roof connects the front and rear halls; the rear hall is three bays wide and one bay deep, with a raised-beam timber frame and a flush gable roof. This temple is one of the ancestral temples of the King of the Pool belief in Fujian, Taiwan, and Southeast Asia.

In 2013, Maxiang Yuanwei Temple was designated as part of the eighth batch of provincial-level cultural relic protection units by the People's Government of Fujian Province.

Protected area: To the east up to Maxiang Street, to the west extending 30 meters beyond the heritage site, to the south extending 20 meters, and to the north up to the planned road.

Maxiang Town: A town under the jurisdiction of Xiang'an District. It boasts well-developed land and water transportation, serving as a key transit hub among Xiamen, Quanzhou, and Zhangzhou. The Quanzhou-Xiamen Expressway, National Highway 324, and Xiang'an Avenue all run through the town. The town center is 33 kilometers from Xiamen City and 55 kilometers from Quanzhou. It covers a total area of 66.87 square kilometers, comprising 27 administrative villages, 99 natural villages, and 7 community neighborhood committees, with a population of 80,000. It is one of the important hometowns of overseas Chinese and ancestral homes of Taiwanese people in southern Fujian.
