Yangzheng Building

Yangzheng Building is located at No. 3 Jicen Road, Jimei, and was completed in September 1926 as the teaching building for Jimei Kindergarten Teachers' School. During the War of Resistance against Japan, it was damaged by Japanese aircraft bombings. After repairs in 1946, it was repurposed as a teaching building for Jimei Primary School and is currently used by Jimei Kindergarten.

The building faces south with a north orientation, features a brick-and-stone structure, and covers a construction area of 450 square meters, showcasing a Spanish architectural style. It has a rear-corridor layout, with a semi-circular projectingopen porch in the middle of the rear corridor. The main structure consists of two stories, with a central tower that extends to four stories. The roof tower features a multi-pitched roof, the wing buildings have double-pitched roofs, and the corner towers are topped with domes. The roof is covered with red machine-made flat tiles. The exterior walls are built on a granite stone base, with load-bearing red exposed brick walls. The tower, corner towers, porch, wall columns, and eaves are decorated in yellow and white. The central entrance is supported by four Roman columns that uphold a cantilevered balcony, adding variety to the building’s façade.
