The Cloud Top Cliff Cliffside Inscriptions are located on Cloud Top Cliff of Hongji Mountain in Lianqian Subdistrict, Siming District. They are a municipal-level cultural relic protection unit, dating from the Ming Dynasty to the Republican Era.

Protected area: the entire rock face bearing the inscriptions.

Lianqian Subdistrict: Established in 1987, Lianqian Subdistrict Office is situated in the new urban area of the eastern part of Xiamen Island. It borders the Xiamen International Convention and Exhibition Center to the east, Cloud Top Cliff to the south, the Lianban business district to the west, and Wuyuan Bay to the north. It faces the Greater and Lesser Kinmen Islands across a narrow strip of water and is the hometown of the “Little Heroic Eighth Route” and the “Ten Sisters at the Frontline,” figures that emerged during the August 23 Artillery Battle of 1958, as well as the birthplace of the melody of the Chinese Young Pioneers’ anthem. The subdistrict covers an area of 22.3 square kilometers, with a permanent population of 102,000 and a migrant population of 137,000. It governs 21 community neighborhood committees.
