The former residence of Chen Huacheng is a municipal-level cultural relics protection unit in Xiamen.

The former residence of Chen Huacheng is located at No. 9 Caopu Lane, Siming District. It is a municipal-level cultural relics protection unit dating back to the Qing Dynasty.

Protected area: The building itself and an additional 10-meter radius around it constitute the protected zone; an additional 10-meter buffer zone extends beyond the protected area.

Chen Huacheng (1776 – June 16, 1842), courtesy name Yezhang, art name Lianfeng, was of Han ethnicity and hailed from Tong’an County, Fujian Province (now part of Xiamen City). He came from a military background, holding positions such as colonel during the Jiaqing era and general during the Daoguang era. At the outbreak of the Opium War, he served as the Fujian Naval Commander, later transferred to be the Jiangnan Naval Commander. During the Opium War, he defended Wusong, fought bravely against British forces, and died a heroic death in battle.
