The Former Revolutionary Site in Tong’an – Songshan Primary School is located in Pengcuo Village, Xindian Town, Xiang’an District. It is a county-level cultural heritage site dating back to 1927.

Songshan Primary School is located in Pengcuo Village, Xindian Town, Tong’an County. It was established in the 7th year of the Republic of China (1918) by Peng Kaipu. The site faces south and is a single-story brick-and-wood building with a hard mountain-style tiled roof, covering an area of 333 square meters. This location served as a base for revolutionary activities in the 1920s, where figures such as Peng Deqing established a farmers' association and a Red Guards unit to carry out revolutionary struggles. It was also a secret contact and transfer point during the renowned Xiamen Prison Break in the 19th year of the Republic of China (1930), which shook the nation. During the Anti-Japanese War, local Communist Party organizations used the site to organize anti-Japanese support groups. In the Liberation War period, it continued to function as a secret base for revolutionary activities.

Protected area: The boundary extends 5 meters from the eastern exterior wall and 15 meters from the other three exterior walls.

Xindian Town: Established as Xindian Commune in 1959, restructured as a township in 1984, and upgraded to a town in 1987. Located along the southeastern coast of the county, it faces the islands of Xiamen and Kinmen across the sea to the south. Covering an area of 118 square kilometers with a population of 81,000, it is traversed by the Ma (Alley)–Ao (Head) and Shui (Head)–Liu (Five Shops) highways. Liuwu Port is one of Fujian Province’s natural harbors and serves as a berthing site for Taiwanese vessels.
