Tomb of Lu Ganzhang
The Tomb of Lu Ganzhang is a municipal-level cultural heritage site in Xiamen.
The Tomb of Lu Ganzhang is located at the western foot of Jimu Mountain on Gulangyu Island in Siming District. It is a municipal-level cultural heritage site dating back to 1928.
Protected area: the tomb structure itself.
Lu Ganzhang (1854–1928), originally named Dan and styled Xueqiao, was a native of Gucun Village, Guyu Bao, Huanhua Li.
Lu Ganzhang began his schooling at the age of nine and took the imperial examination at 18. He ranked high in the county-level test but failed the prefectural exam, after which he never pursued the imperial examination system again. At that time, with “Westernization spreading to the East,” Lu Ganzhang participated in Christian activities and was deeply influenced by Western culture. This further distanced him from the imperial examination system.
