The Tong’an Bell Tower is a cultural relic protection unit of Tong’an District.

The Tong’an Bell Tower is located at Xinlu Intersection, Datong Subdistrict, Tong’an District. It is a county-level cultural relic protection unit built in 1930.

The Tong’an Bell Tower is situated in Datong Town, Tong’an County. In the 19th year of the Republic of China (1930), it was built to honor two martyrs, Zhuang Zunxian and Pan Jiawen, who died in the anti-Yuan and National Protection War. The five-story square brick-concrete structure faces south, and the third-floor facade bears the engraved inscription “Memorial Bell Tower for Martyrs Zhuang and Pan” in regular script. During a 1987 renovation, a stone plaza and railing were added around the tower. Zhuang Zunxian, a native of Guankou, Tong’an and a member of the Tongmenghui, and Pan Jiawen, from Yongchun, Fujian and a graduate of the Baoding Military Academy, led revolutionary forces. They were killed in battle on May 5 of the 5th year of the Republic of China (1916) while fighting to reclaim Tong’an County from Yuan Shikai’s rule. This site is a county-level cultural relic protection unit.

Protected area: 30 meters extending outward from all sides of the bell tower.

Datong Subdistrict: Covering an area of 19.51 square kilometers, Datong Subdistrict has a registered population of 60,361. It includes 9 communities: Tongxin, Xi’an, Sanxiu, Houlu, Xibian, Chengxi, Fengshan, Beimen, and Xichi; and 9 village committees: Tianyang, Guzhuang, Chaoyuan, Dongshan, Dingxitou, Biyu, Dongzhai, Xiaxitou, and Kangxun.
