The Tomb of Huang Tingyuan is a Fujian Provincial-level cultural relics protection unit.

The Tomb of Huang Tingyuan is located at Qishantou, Xilu Village, Maxiang Town, Xiang'an District. It is a county-level cultural relics protection unit dating back to 1936.

Protected area: 20 meters outward from all sides of the tomb.

Huang Tingyuan (1861–1936), also known as Fu Chu, was a native of Xihou Township, Maxiang Subprefecture (now Xilu Village, Maxiang Town). Due to his family’s poverty, he only attended private school for two years before working as a shop clerk in Xiamen. He worked during the day and studied on his own at night, always reading whenever he had free time. Later, after saving some money, he went to Taiwan with friends to study medicine. After returning to Xiamen, he opened his own dental clinic and began to prosper financially.

In the late Qing Dynasty, political corruption, foreign aggression, and internal strife led to a deteriorating national situation.
