Former Site of the Xiamen Anti-Enemy Support Association

The former site of the Xiamen Anti-Enemy Support Association is a municipal cultural heritage site in Xiamen.

The former site of the Xiamen Anti-Enemy Support Association is located at No. 71 Ding’an Road in Xiamen. The historic building faces north and is a four-story Western-style brick-concrete structure covering an area of 246 square meters. Built in the 18th year of the Republic of China (1929), it was originally the private residence of Huang Zaimian, a Taiwanese obstetrician and gynecologist. The first and second floors of the building housed an obstetrics and gynecology clinic named “Baoshengtang” (Preservation of Life Hall). On July 28, 1937 (the 26th year of the Republic of China), the Xiamen Branch of the Fujian Provincial Anti-Enemy Support Association was officially established at Baoshengtang. The conference elected 69 executive committee members and 23 standing committee members, and set up 11 departments including propaganda, fundraising, consolation, medical aid, relief, and transportation. Among them, the propaganda and consolation teams were organizations led by the local Communist Party branch in Xiamen. This site is a municipal-level cultural heritage protection unit.
